Email Marketing Manager

Cappex is looking for an expert Email Marketing Manager to lead company-wide email marketing initiatives using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (formerly ExactTarget). Do you thrive on getting the right emails into the right inboxes at the right times and seeing open and click-through rates climb? This role includes end-to-end production and deployment of emails, including planning, targeting, segmentation, deployment, testing and reporting. You'll be expected to develop and track email campaigns, develop the strategic email marketing plans for our large database of Cappex student users, and maximize the company's benefit from strategic use of email communication through solid execution and continuous optimization. The Email Marketing Manager plays a key role on the Cappex marketing team and collaborates closely with the product and technology teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage various email campaigns, including the template designs, calls-to-action and content used in our email sends, and post-campaign reporting.
  • Segment lists based on behaviors like past email engagement and site interactions (lead generation, site page visits, etc.); identify the most effective target segments and drive increased student interactions via email.
  • Measure results; optimize communication and workflows to convert subscribers into repeat visitors and increased leads.
  • Monitor email deliverability and list hygiene to ensure optimal inbox placement and CANSPAM compliance.
  • Deliver timely reporting and insight that accurately measures email delivery and performance.
  • Develop documentation and road maps for processes, A/B tests, and promotions that succeed through email; provide actionable insights to improve email program performance.
  • Recommend future email initiatives based on industry trends, results and best practices; build on successes and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage relationship with email service provider, ensuring vendor effectiveness, efficiencies and maximization of their technology for use in our communications.
  • Identify and help troubleshoot technical issues; work with technology team to resolve.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • 3+ years experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, analytics
  • 1+ years experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (formerly ExactTarget) including use of AMPScript, queries and data filters
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and email design
  • Familiarity with most major ESPs and an understanding of industry trends
  • Strong understanding of email coding and best practices, including responsive design
  • Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics and Excel for ROI tracking and reporting
  • Superior understanding of email marketing concepts and metrics such as sender score, deliverability, and sender reputation
  • Careful attention to detail without sacrificing deadlines. The right candidate will be able to juggle several, sometimes conflicting deadlines
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of direct-response marketing and database management
